About me

Henrietta Fernandez

I graduated from Middlesex Polytechnic in the mid 80’s with a BA Hons in Jewellery Design. I had the good fortune of work experience with Theo Fennell where I learnt about making fine jewellery in silver, gold and platinum ...a complete contrast to humble student life.

Following college I went on to work with British designer and jeweller, Wendy Ramshaw OBE, as her main workshop assistant. A significant period where I learnt, not only about the world of contemporary jewellery design, but how to work to a very high standard with gold, silver and semi precious stones.

Since then I have worked successfully as a self employed decorative painter, and more lately as a secondary school Design and Technology teacher, teaching amongst other things, Jewellery Design!

I have continued to design and make jewellery, some to commission, for gifts and wedding rings, and have been building up my hand-crafted collections in silver and gold over the past two years.

I left teaching behind in July 2006 to concentrate fully on my jewellery design business, and now share studio space in Brighton working alongside several other freelance contemporary jewellers.
